Getting Organized and Dream Planning

I’m really excited for this week as things are all settling into place.
I accomplished a lot this week.

I was able to get a prescription for some much needed medicine that I’ve had trouble obtaining for the past 5 years while working and I expect my productivity levels to increase dramatically, which will also increase my happiness as I begin completing the goals I set for myself instead of seeing them come and go without being accomplished.

After a rough two month start in my first primary teaching position, several meetings with the principal, I’m feeling like I have a good handle of what needs to be done and how to accomplish it.

Now that I have a regular salary, I’ve spent the week looking for (there are no yellow books in Mexico!) doctors to take care of different ailments that have been bothering me for some time but that I’ve just had to deal with. This month I’ve already spent almost $200 in Dr. Appointments and medicines and expect to spend about $100 more before the month is finished but it’s always good to invest in ones own health and it feels great to be able to do that finally.

Another big bonus I’ve learned of with my current employer is that I get a holiday bonus of half my salary (minus taxes) for Xmas PLUS they will pay for a roundtrip airfare back to my ‘home’. I’m currently negotiating with them on defining where that is as I do not want to return to Las Vegas (which is where I flew in from) for Xmas nor do I want to go to cold, cold Iowa for 3 weeks. Hopefully, I’ll have a paid holiday to somewhere nice and tropical.

As I’ve been walking around the city a lot looking for different things like which pharmacy sells meds at the best price I’ve found that Ciudad del Carmen actually DOES have some life/culture! My first impressions of the city was that there really wasn’t much to see or do here but in the last week I’ve found a culture house where they teach music, a Capoeira Group that practices every evening in the park near my house, a Salsa Room located near my house and various different types of stores for food and other supplies.

This weekend will be busy for me. I have a huge ‘to-do’ list that has been building up over the past few months as self-set deadlines came and went.

My plan is to
-Finish organizing all grading rubrics for my classes to present to parents on Tuesday when the come to school.
-Get eyeglasses today since the contacts aren’t working well.
-Create a monthly budget based on spending habits so far and create savings goals for 3-6-9 months.
-Create my first Dream Board
-Use Dream board/goal list to create Dreamline (a game plan for accomplishing dreams based on the book 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss).
-Find Universal Adaptor for a harddrive and try to retrieve data from my broken hard drive
-Saturday will be spent editing Las Vegas footage down from 50 hours to a max of 1 hour of good footage to create video for blog and hostel that sponsored me.
-Sunday will be my lesson/school planning day

I think this will be one of the most productive weeks I’ve had in a very long while.

How has your week been? What are some things you have or plan to accomplish?
